Psalms Session #2 - Psalms of Lament
The most common Psalms in the Psalter are “laments,” in which God’s people cry out to him for help in their pain and suffering. They sometimes question God’s wisdom and challenge him to act on the Psalmist’s behalf. Though the Psalmists cry to God for help, they don’t despair. Instead, they include a confident statement of hope that God will intervene. While praise Psalms are about orientation to what is true and real, laments express the honest disorientation we feel hen life gets painful and confusing.(video segment is 14 minutes)
